World Turtle, A piece I did recently for Light Grey Art Lab’s Animystics show.
A long time ago, God sent a pair of Cosmic Turtles to govern and build life on Mars and Earth. The Martian turtle and the Earthian turtle fell in love with each other, but their duties bound them to the planets they guarded. However, the Martian Turtle decided to abandon his responsibilities and left Mars in attempt to reunite with the Earthian Turtle. He never made it to Earth and was forever lost in the infinite void of the galaxy. Without the presence of its guardian, all life on Mars soon turned to dust. To this day, the Earthian Turtle still looks to Mars and cries.
